Cross My Mind

                                                 Please,

Look both ways before you cross my mind,

Because I might be inclined to run the ‘Stop’ sign,

And without any hesitation,

I’ll take the violation because you are just fine.

I’m wondering if our thoughts will intertwine,

Because you have been jaywalking in and out of my lane,

And I am that reckless driver that needs to be tamed.

So how do I get you to the side of the road,

And into my passenger seat;

Since you seem to be having issues with crossing the street.

Let me give you some direction

as you’re making your way through my intersection,

And making your way through every section

Of my conscious —

And I can promise,

The ride is worth the while.

Just make sure there’s enough gas in the tank;

You going to need it for every mile.

I know that you’re a pedestrian

Trying to make it to your destination,

But I can estimate that you’ll be there in plenty of time;

You just be more careful when crossing my mind.
